
To the delight of locals and visitors alike, New York will be transformed when dozens of authentic tall ships occupy the waters of the harbor, evoking the memory of NYC's maritime past. A wandering ship by nature, the Appledore V will be a guest in the harbor for the duration of New York's Fleet Week and Memorial Day Weekend.
Join Manhattan by Sail aboard the 65' two masted Schooner Appledore V (a Class B Tall Ship) during a special visit to New York during Fleet Week 2012. Manhattan by Sail and the Appledore V will offer daily 3 hour sails in New York harbor featuring spectacular views of the visiting Tall Ships fleet, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Governors Island, the Brooklyn Bridge and more.
The Appledore V will carefully traverse New York's harbor three times per day for the entirety of Fleet Week 2012, beginning on the 24th of May. Get up close and personal, viewing the ships from the deck of the Appledore, each one gorgeous in its own right with sails and flags billowing in the breeze. Passengers can help the crew sail the ship or relax and enjoy sailing one of the world’s great harbors on a real working schooner.
